Acceptance of terms
By using Voco you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Voco.
What Voco is
Voco lets two people who speak different languages communicate by voice, text and video, with automatic transcription, translation, live captions and read-aloud, in their personal lives and at work.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Voco.
Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google, and you can get back into your account on any device by signing in again with the same Apple or Google account. You are responsible for activity on your account.
Free use, subscriptions and purchases
Voco includes a limited amount of free use. You can buy a subscription, which includes a monthly allowance of usage hours and of video-call minutes, and one-time packs of usage hours or video-call minutes. In each conversation, the participant set as host pays for that conversation's usage. Purchases are made through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds are governed by their terms. Remaining hours and minutes are lost if you delete your account.
Referral program
You can invite others with your referral code. When someone you referred makes their first paid purchase, you may earn a commission, and so may the person who referred you, as shown in the app. Commissions are paid through PayPal to the address you provide. We may withhold commissions earned through fraud or abuse, and we may change or end the program.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: harass, threaten, or abuse other users; impersonate someone else; send illegal, hateful, or sexually exploitative content; record or share someone else's messages or calls without their consent; abuse the referral program; or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these rules.
Blocking, reporting & enforcement
Voco gives you tools to block and report other users directly from a conversation. We may review reported content, and may warn, restrict, or remove accounts that violate these Terms or make the app unsafe for others.
Your content
You retain ownership of the messages, photos and files you send. By sending them, you grant Voco the license needed to transmit, transcribe, translate, store, and display them as part of operating the service.
Translation accuracy
Transcriptions, translations and captions are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, especially for slang, idioms, or nuance. Don't rely on Voco where mistakes could cause serious harm, such as medical, legal or emergency situations.
Using Voco at work
If you use Voco to communicate with employees, workers or colleagues, you are responsible for complying with the employment, privacy and other laws that apply to you, including telling them how Voco is used. You may not use Voco to monitor employees, and you may not make an employee's job conditional on using Voco. Automatic translation is not a substitute for a professional interpreter or a properly translated written document: don't rely on Voco alone for safety instructions, employment contracts, wage and rights notices, or disciplinary, medical or legal matters.
Termination
You may stop using Voco and delete your account at any time from Profile > Delete account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion.
Disclaimers
Voco is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that translations will be accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Voco and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including damages resulting from interactions with other users or translation errors.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as Voco changes. If we make material changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to let you know inside the app. Continuing to use Voco after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
